SF Porchfest is an annual afternoon of music on the porches, backyards and stoops of the Mission.
Porchfest celebrates community, fun, and all kinds of music. Everyone is welcome to participate, whether as performing artists, porch hosts, volunteers, or members of a roving audience. SF Porchfest is free and open to the public.
SF Porchfest reflects the creativity and diversity of the city we all love, with musical acts across many genres, ages, and backgrounds. The annual SF Porchfest is an incredible day, and we’re still basking in the joy of our year 7 event held on June 8, 2025. Approximately 4000 people attended this year.
Porchfest started in Ithaca, New York in 2007. Beth Gould and Liz Pittinos co-founded the SF version in 2015. SF Porchfest is run by a very small group of volunteers with a very small budget. Everybody involved volunteers their time: hosts, musicians, day of event volunteers, web/social/PR support.
In 2023, SF Porchfest became a fiscally sponsored Community Partner with SF Parks Alliance. This year with the help of a grant from the Civic Joy Fund, we were able to pay the musicians for the first time.
See you on the Porch!
